Coronation Street's Summer set for tragic baby loss as fans 'expose' Esther and Mike's sick plot

Coronation Street viewers have twigged a sick plot involving Summer Spellman's baby.

The teenager recently had her world turned upside down as she discovered she was pregnant, leaving her with a huge decision to make.

Viewers of the ITV soap, which airs on Virgin Media in Ireland, watched as her guardian Billy Mayhew's parishioners Esther and Mike offered her £10,000 in exchange for her continuing with the pregnancy and giving her baby to them.

A stunned Summer initially decided to have an abortion but later changed her mind, and agreed to give away her baby so she could use the money to send her boyfriend Aaron Sandford’s dad to rehab.

But as Mike and Esther said they wanted Summer to put Mike’s name down as the father on the birth certificate, fans became suspicious and think the pair are up to something much darker, Daily Star reports.

One fan posted on social media: "I think they will try for custody as he will be down as the dad and make her look like an unfit mum, and lie."

Another agreed: "Once he gets named on the birth certificate. The baby gets born. They apply to the courts to get full custody. She's young with health problems. They'll will claim she's incompetent. That telling look from her."

A third chimed in: "Baby trafficking maybe?" as many others agreed.

Someone else wrote: “Yep them two are definitely suspect...That baby could possibly be resold for a bigger profit."

Could Summer be about have any rights she has to her child taken away as the pair’s sinister plot is exposed?

Meanwhile, spoiler pictures for Christmas have shown Summer showing up to Mike and Esther’s house with an envelope in her hand, hinting that she will attempt to return the money to them.

Summer and Mike seem to get caught in a heated exchange as she pushes her way into their home, but fans will have to wait and see what happens to the teen.

One thing is for sure, Summer may have a fight on her hands to keep hold of her child.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on at 8pm on Virgin Media One.
