Coronation Street actress Sally Carman celebrated her fourth anniversary with co-star Joe Duttine, after fans of the ITV soap hit out at her being 'snubbed' at Saturday's British Soap Awards, while others viewers claim to have no idea they were couple.
Having previously been a big fan favourite as Kelly in hit Channel 4 show Shameless, Sally ventured onto the Wetherfield cobbles as on-screen alias Abi Franklin in 2017. But i's over the past year that Sally has achieved huge acclaim for her performances in Corrie, as Abi's son Seb was killed in a hate crime that mirrored the vicious real-life attack on teenager Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend.
The hard-hitting storyline provided Coronation Street with some truly harrowing scenes, as Seb was fatally injured, with one particularly heart-breaking moment seeing a grief stricken Abi falling to the floor in hospital after being told of his death, while struggling to come to terms with what had happened to him and becoming determined to bring those responsible to justice.

And then Sally's much loved character was embroiled in a custody battle with Imran Habeeb over her other child, Alfie, with him rumbling her plans to kidnap the little one and flee the country.
Away from the cameras, things have been going well for Sally and Joe and, last week, she shared a loved up picture of the pair, with the simple caption 'our years,' along with four heart emojis. The picture followed one from February, in which Sally referred to Joe as her 'valentine.'
Some of her followers clearly didn't realise, Joe, whose character Tim is married to Sally Webster on Corrie, and real-life love Sally were an item with one responding: "Abby and Tim are a real life couple?! Mind blown... congratulations." Another reacted: "AAHH!! u guys are so cute I love it!"
Sally's post came right before the British Soap Awards at the weekend, when she was nominated in both Dramatic Performance and Lead Performance categories. Sally faced some tough competition for two of the top accolades of the night and ended up losing out to two Emmerdale stars Mark Charnock in the first and then Paige Sandhu in the latter.
Just like EastEnders fans were angry that Gillian Wright didn't win more, Corrie viewers were upset on Sally's behalf, feeling she was very much deserving of more recognition after an amazing year. Taking to Twitter, one upset viewer commented: "Sally Carman totally deserved to win multiple awards!. She is incredible."
Equally annoyed, a second tweeted: "What does Sally Carman have to do to win an award?"
