Coronation Street has revealed in new spoilers that Phill Whittaker is up to something on the ITV soap, after months of speculation from fans.
Many viewers have been guessing he may have a secret link to a past character, or that he might not be who he says he is.
Next week, it's clear he is hiding something from Fiz Brown when he lies about his whereabouts, and is spotted receiving a mystery package.
Phill and Fiz's romance has been going from strength to strength, despite her clear reservations about their new life together.
They've moved into a new big house together away from the street, with her daughters, and Fiz seems happy with Phill.
But Tyrone Dobbs, Fiz's ex, is concerned when he spots Phill acting suspiciously next week on the cobbles, despite him having claimed to be in Leeds.
Will Tyrone act on his suspicions, and what exactly is Phill playing at?
Also next week, a secret being kept by Fiz comes to light when she comes face-to-face with a blast from the past.
She agrees to to meet up with Phill's friends Graham and Angela for a double date. As the quartet meet though, Fiz is faced with someone from her past and her secrets are exposed.
It emerges Phill has no idea that Fiz was once married to a serial killer, John Stape, and that she too faced trial over fraud charges as well as murder.
Of course the crimes were actually committed by John, and eventually Fiz was freed from prison after an appeal.
Next week, his friend Graham recognises Fiz at their double date, and he soon confesses they have met before.
Fiz is shocked and worried about the truth coming out, as Graham explains that he was the solicitor for the prosecution.
She later confides in Tyrone how she’s never told Phill about John and what happened with him and beyond, but she fears it's only a matter of time before he does learn the truth.
So when Phill does realise what has gone on, what will he think about it all and how will he react?
