Hope Stape found out some hard-hitting home truths in Coronation Street today.
The youngster discovered that she is the daughter of kidnapper and murderer John Stape. The soap villain, who was in a relationship with Fiz, was written out as he died in 2011 after his secret life of crime was uncovered.
Fiz was forced to explain his full background to her shared daughter with him after Hope found a folder of information on him on Fiz's new lover's laptop. Angry at what she had found, she smashed Phill's car up with a digger.

Fiz confronted Phill to find out why he had a folder on his computer full of information on her evil ex. He told her that it was "research."
He said: "I was doing it for you - you said it yourself, people don't know the hell that you went through with Stape." He explained that Fiz had never had a chance to tell her side of the story and so he had decided to write a book based on John Stape's crimes from Fiz's point of view.
But Fiz was fuming as she said: "You thought it would be a good idea to drag up the most traumatic period of my life and stick it in a book because you love true crime?" Phil replied: "No... Well yeah. But only because I want people to know what you went through. But I can see now that it's not something you're that keen on."
He asked her to forget it, but Fiz said they can't. She said: "We can't. Because I've got an eleven year old at home right now who thinks she might be a bad person, just like her dad - the serial killer."
Fans on Twitter thought that the book was a coverup for something else and didn't believe what Phill was saying. Ian said: "That can't be the real reason. He's covering for something else #corrie"
Sean said: "There's definitely more to Phil than him just planning a book, I reckon. It seemed like a desperate excuse to me. #Corrie"
Sarah said: "So Phill’s big secret was that he was starting to research John Stape? Surely there’s more to it than that? #Corrie"
Others had a theory that John and Phill could be related. Ryan said: "That's a weak excuse - Phil and John are definitely related #Corrie"
Ryan said: "I wonder if Phil and John Stape are related? #Corrie." Meanwhile, Westie said: "Phil’s probably related to one of John’s victims. #Corrie #CoronationStreet."
