Coronation Street's Alan Halsall was relieved as he provided a behind the scenes insight into his character's long romance with Fiz Stape.
The soap actor is renowned for his role as Tyrone Dobbs in the long-running ITV show. The character is now enjoying a stable period in his turbulent on-screen relationship with Fiz as they got engaged.
Fiz is played by Jennie McAlpine and the two actors spoke to the Liverpool ECHO and other press as the characters could finally be set to tie the knot in a dramatic Christmas Day episode. Alan revealed his character will try to arrange the wedding as a surprise and keep it a secret from Fiz.

However, the plan will spark chaos as Fiz will become frustrated with Tyrone's seeming disinterest in making plans for Christmas Day. The big event will be struck with disaster when Fiz becomes stranded while trying to get a turkey for Christmas dinner.
Tyrone will be unable to contact the bride-to-be as she leaves her phone back in Coronation Street which raises questions on whether she will make it back for them to finally wed.
The characters first started their romance 21 years ago and Alan was in hysterics when he revealed the actors recently re-watched clips of their steamiest moments on Corrie. He told the ECHO and other press: "I've been kissing Jennie longer than I have anyone else in my life."
The 40-year-old added: "It was quite an interesting thing because we got shown clips of Tyrone and Fiz together and honesty I have no recollection of them."
Alan was in stitches as he said he was relieved to discover Jennie also didn't remember filming the passionate scenes. He added: "It's funny. Times where we had big passionate kisses and we both look at each other like 'we don't remember ' and I thought 'I'm glad she doesn't as well then'."
Tyrone has been previously been engaged to two other characters on Weatherfield, but Alan insists he thinks it will be third time lucky if his character finally marries Fiz. He said: "I think those others were just practicing. Throughout his life, unbeknownst to him, this is where he wanted to be. Those walking down the aisles were mistakes he needed to make to be in the right place."
