A Coronation Street newcomer is set to make waves on the cobbles in the coming weeks.
Jacob Hay has turned his life around and put his drug dealing past behind him. He is now loved up with Amy Barlow, and has a job at Underworld, as well as a new flat.
Sadly, things don't stay blissful or calm for too long in soap land, and Jacob is about to have the rug pulled from under him.

Jacob's dad Damon is now set to appear in Weatherfield, with the young man desperate to get rid of his father immediately. But why is Jacob so intent on having nothing to do with him?
What exactly is Damon’s background and why has he suddenly appeared in Jacob's life?
Damon’s quick to make out he’s here to put things right with Jacob and make up for lost time but is there more to it than that as Damon starts pushing for a business opportunity at the Bistro? Should Nick and Leanne also be watching their backs once more?
Damon is played by Ciaran Griffiths, who has previously starred as Mickey Maguire in Shameless, as well as having roles in The Bay and Waterloo Road. He also had a stint in Corrie, back in 2000.
Ciaran played Dean Sykes, the younger brother of Linda Sykes, the fourth wife of Underworld owner Mike Baldwin. Dean held up a till at Freshco, armed with a handgun.
The plan was to raid the safe and escape with thousands of pounds. But as the siege grew, the supermarket was surrounded by police.
Armed officers burst into the store and Dean began to fire his gun. The police then shot back, and Dean later died from his injuries.
Ciaran will make his on screen debut as Damon in December. He told the ECHO : "I watched Corrie as a kid and it’s great to be back with some old friends both cast and crew. I’m loving having the opportunity to work with some quality Northern actors whose work I have long admired, particularly on such a complex character like Damon".
