Coronation Street's murderer Stephen Reid may finally be exposed next week as his cruel plan for partner Elaine Jones is finally revealed.
Following a chilling discovery, Elaine realises his plan - just hours before they are due to leave for a trip to the Peak District.
Up until her discovery, Elaine had no idea that Stephen is planning to murder her there, after weeks of attempting to paint her as depressed, reports the Mirror.
The Corrie villain even goes as far as to forge a suicide note in an attempt to make it look like Elaine has taken her own life, whilst also forging a life insurance application in her name - in an attempt to get the money.
Stephen is sure he has led Elaine's loved ones to worry about Elaine's mental health, after his claims that she's putting on a front whilst struggling to cope.
However, his plan to kill her and get away with the crime comes under threat next week - and possibly leads to his own demise.
At the moment, details are being kept under wraps, but what is known is that Stephen and another character end in a struggle, which leads to one of the two being admitted to hospital.
Meanwhile, Elaine's son Tim has been concerned about his intentions from the beginning after Elaine gave Stephen funds for his business.
Tim was unable to shake the feeling that his mother was in danger, and next week he may be proven correct.
The truth begins to unravel as Elaine makes discovery after discovery which looks set to expose what Stephen has been up to.
With his ex Gabrielle having helped him with trying to get money out of the factory amid his latest money scam, her true identity is finally exposed.
Elaine spots her on a Zoom call with Stephen but later realises she is his ex and not working with him.
Covering her shock, she quickly goes to meet her son Tim and reveals what she has found out.
Realising he hasn't been honest, she begins piecing everything together that has been going on recently.
It's then that Elaine shows Tim a metal box in which Stephen files things away, and she decides to open it.
Tim prises it open and they’re shocked to discover the forged life insurance documents - and it dawns on Elaine what his plan was. So Tim sets out to confront Stephen, and waits for him at the flat.
Elaine's son then wastes no time in accusing Stephen over what they've discovered.
An angry Tim tells him the game’s up and they’re going to report him to the police.
But things escalate and a violent struggle ensues, landing at least one of the men in hospital.
But will this lead to the demise of killer Stephen, and will his crimes finally come to light?
