Coronation Street fans have worked out the real identity of Maria Connor's troll - as Max was arrested for the crime.
Dad David Platt is convinced his son is responsible for the trolling of his friend Maria, who has been subjected to some nasty comments online as she continues with her political ambitions and dreams.
At the end of tonight's episode, David called the police on Max and they arrested him for threats to kill. They seized his devices including his phone and laptop and took him in for questioning, with Shona going with him to act as his appropriate adult.
However, fans are sure they've worked out a twist - and Max isn't the one who's been trolling Maria. They are instead convinced someone else is responsible and took to Twitter to give their theory.
"Poor Max, I get the feeling he is not guilty this time but I could be wrong #corrie," one person wrote on social media, as another shared online: "As much as I loathe Max i don’t think he did it #Corrie."
"SadBoy55 won’t be Max #Corrie," a third shared, whilst a fourth wrote: "David, what have you done? Clearly wasn't Max #Corrie."
Viewers are convinced they've rumbled who's responsible for it - and it's someone very close to home.
"Why do I think its Shona? She seemed to act very guilty a few times and very distracted in the cafe. #Corrie," one fan suggested, whilst another agreed in a post on Twitter, "Poor Max I don't think it's him. Maybe Shona.
Another added: "Sadboy55 is the refugee money on it..... #Corrie," convinced it was the refugee who Maria has taken under her wing. Max was left fuming earlier this week after finding out he wasn't able to go back to school because there were no places left. He wrongly assumed the young boy had taken his place at the school, but that wasn't the case.
"Watch it really be one of her own kids hahaha overheard her and Gary and blame them for Kelly leaving or something haha #corrie," a fourth penned on Twitter, convinced Liam was the one to blame for what had happened.
Maria has also been subjected to deep-fakes by a troll. Explaining how Maria feels about it all, Samia explained: "She’s absolutely mortified.
"One, that it even exists, and two, that [her son] Liam has seen this video and thinks that it’s her – these deep-fakes actually look like the person. So she’s absolutely mortified thinking that everyone’s going to think that she’s been doing pornography.
"She thinks that everyone who voted her in as councillor will see this video and think that she’s someone that she’s not."
