Coronation Street fans 'work out' Leo villain twist as he gets close to Jenny

Coronation Street fans have "worked out" that Jenny's new man Leo is the ITV soap's newest villain.

Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) tragically lost her ex Johnny Connor in sad scenes last year, when he died after trying to save her from a sinkhole disaster during the ITV show's super soap week.

But things seem to be on the up for Jenny as she seems to have moved on with new man Leo, something which other residents - including Johnny's daughter Carla - is less than impressed with.

In scenes earlier this week, Leo invites two of his friends over to meet Jenny at the pub, but despite them seeming to like her, she immediately feels left out and worries she's too old for him.

Now fans are convinced they have rumbled a huge twist for Jenny, as they're sure Leo must be some sort of villain.

"Leo is using Jenny. Since when would he take such an interest in an older woman like Jenny?" one wrote online, as a second added: "I wonder if Leo is someone that Johnny messed with when he was in prison."

Another shared: "Leo is 100% gonna be a villain. He's got that villainous, sinister look on his face! #Corrie."

"I don't trust Leo. I think he's after something off Jenny, like money or something," a fourth penned.

Johnny died in devastating scenes last year, as he succumbed to the water in the storm drain. At the time, actor Richard Hawley admitted he was "knocked back" by his own soap exit.

"He [Iain, the show's producer] explained that the death in the big stunt was going to be Johnny, he outlined the story to me and I was absolutely overjoyed and knocked back by what he was planning," he shared at the time.

"Because for me it is the completion of a great love story, which is what Sally Ann and I had wanted. You can’t get a truly great love story until it is over, until someone dies."

Richard's exit had to be delayed because of the Covid pandemic.

"Iain the producer had known for some time that I was ready to go, I talked to him about it in the previous year and then all the plans and arrangements got stymied because of Covid and I was actually very happy to be working through that year," he shared.
