Coronation Street fans want character 'protected at all costs' as they find new favourite

Coronation Street fans have demanded that a newcomer to Weatherfield is 'protected at all costs' as he made his official debut on the street. Gav Adetiba had already been seen alongside Max Turner in the Secure Training Centre (STC).

Max is still fresh out of the STC himself months after pleading guilty to encouraging terrorism. In horror scenes aired back in January, fans of the ITV soap watched as teenager Blake appeared intent on causing damage as he live-streamed his visit to Maria Connor's refugee drop-in.

Upon seeing the live stream video, Max tried to stop him but it was too late as after being refused entry by Gary Windass, Blake launched towards Maria before Alya Nazir saved her life by taking the horrific blow. The shocking attack came after both Maria and Alya were the targets of the extremist group led by eco-warrior Griff Reynolds and his racist gang who groomed troubled Max.

And it was upon seeing the videos Max helped create for the terrifying gang that Blake decided to pull his own horrifying stunt. But while in the STC, Max made friends with Gav but failed to mention why he was there in the first place.

During Monday night's trip to the cobbles, Gav sprung a surprise on his new pal as he appeared at the local precinct. He had asked his friend to get in touch with his ex-girlfriend, Bec, in a bid to win her round and after thinking he found her, Max ended up striking up a relationship with her instead.

Fuming by Gav's admission, he pinned Max up against the wall only for 'Bec' to interrupt them. It is then that Gav let out a huge laugh and revealed that the girl Max had been spending time with wasn't Bec at all and was in fact his sister, Sabrina.

Gav was initially unhappy with Max (ITV)

Wondering what she was doing in his flat, Sabrina explained to Gav that her mum had thrown her out, and then she broke into Gav's flat so she'd have someplace to stay. However, Sabrina then filled Gav in on Max's history as a racist with the right-wing gang, leaving Gav stunned.

Following the scenes, and the return of Gav, Corrie took to its own social media channels to introduce viewers to actor Noah Olaoye, who plays Gav, who gave them his very one tour of the street on his own first day on the famous cobbles.
