Coronation Street fans claimed they have finally got proof that Audrey Roberts' long lost son Stephen Reid is up to no good.
He walked down the cobbles to save the day when his mum got into some bother after a few drinks at Trim Up North last month.
Audrey was rushed to hospital after being trapped under a motorbike in the barbers all night, after it fell on her and her eldest child turned up just on time.
But it already looks like Stephen - played by American actor Todd Boyce - is keeping secrets, and many predict he could be lying about his past.
Now, some think they’ve figured out his sinister motive, the DailyStar report.
Stephen, who emigrated to Canada 60 years ago with his adoptive parents, has been living in Italy after moving to the country in 2007, with Sarah and daughter Bethany Platt moving in with him in the early 2000s.
But since they returned in 2014, it appears that Stephen has been up to no good in the background and there is much more to him than meets the eye.
It should set alarm bells ringing in the Platt clan after Audrey (Sue Nicholls) put him in charge of dishing out her money when he dies.
Fans seem to think he’s been secretly living in the UK for years - and one thing in particular is sticking out.
One key element clued fans in to the fact that Stephen looks like he hasn’t set down roots abroad for a while, as they pointed out that he has his own - rather expensive - car in England.
Taking to Reddit, one user posted: “Stephen. Why does he have a car? He lives in another country and arrived in Weatherfield in a taxi… is he really so rich that he can just buy a car for trips or has he hired it?
“In which case couldn’t the company have arranged fixing it?”
Someone else posted: “The hire care would have been replaced if there was anything wrong with it - it wouldn’t be down to the hirer to sort!” as another agreed: “You don’t take a rental car to a mechanic and pay to get it fixed.”
Others are sure Stephen is putting on an elaborate scheme to con Audrey out of her money, as one fan tweeted: “Stephen saying ‘I have a very important meeting’ every five minutes. You know he’s likely in trouble and gonna nick Audrey’s money.”
Another predicted: “So Stephen’s either drugging Audrey to get his hands on her money or she has dementia…”
“Stephen back to drain Audrey’s bank account!” a third said, as someone else tweeted: “Stephen just wants Audrey to sign here, here and here…”
It comes as other fans have predicted Stephen is the one behind Aaron’s abuse, after he showed Summer bruises on his ribs from being ‘attacked in the street’.
But a suspicious phone call later on proved Aaron was being threatened by someone a lot closer to home - with some suggesting Stephen could even be his father.
“I suspect Stephen beats up Aaron,” one fan guessed, as another agreed: “I wonder if it was Stephen that beat Aaron?”
