Coronation Street fans left shaking after "harrowing" episode as Ryan Connor was attacked by Justin in horror scenes.
The ITV soap aired some harrowing scenes this evening, as Justin took an even more evil turn and decided to throw acid at Daisy Midgeley on her wedding day in revenge for her rejecting his advances.
He has been stalking her ever since the pair met in a cancer treatment centre and what seemed to initially be like a harmless friendship soon turned into a harrowing ordeal for Daisy.
In shock scenes tonight, Ryan was hit by acid as Justin made a lunge for Daisy with the corrosive liquid.
"You think everybody wants you because you're so perfect, aren't you? Nobody's going to want you after this," he said as he threw the acid and Ryan jumped in, immediately screaming and clutching his face as the liquid hit him.
Fans were shocked by the horrific scenes, with them immediately rushing to social media to share their disgust.
"I’ve no words for this episode and how it’s been handled and directed. just phenomenal. charlie and Ryan need all the recognition possible for this. I’ve got goosebumps, a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. the whole team have excelled themselves #corrie," one wrote, as a second added: "Such a harrowing episode well acted, Ryan’s screams brought me to tears #Corrie."
A third shared: "Wow @itvcorrie That was SO moving and emotional and raw. Utterly incredible - the acting, the cinematography, the storyline - everything #Corrie," with a fourth writing: "This episode is gut-wrenching to watch yet so well performed, written and directed. devastating that this happens to people in real life but well done to corrie for raising awareness on stalkers #corrie."
Actor Ryan recently told The Mirror that he will slowly realise the gravity of what has happened to him, as his life "changes forever".
He explained: "He's started seeing life will never be the same again, in which he's kind of trying to reach out and clutch on to whatever he can within his life that will allow him to deny this reality. One of them being Alya, this new love interest Crystal.
"As he sees these things slipping away he tries to reach out and grab a hold of them in desperation, but I think he knows."
He added: "As soon as something like this happens there are stages of acceptance and denial, but slowly bit by bit he starts to understand the gravity of his wounds and what has happened."
