Coronation Street fans concerned for Sean Tully after newcomer's past exposed

Coronation Street fans have predicted a dark twist after Sean Tully's new love interest's past was exposed.

Monday's edition of the long-running soap continued to explore the character's blossoming romance with Frank Bardsley. The newcomer is played by Brookside legend Simon O'Brien, who portrayed Damon Grant on the Liverpool based soap.

Frank and Sean flirted after they met in the Rovers Return last week and joked about their mishaps in the online dating world. Frank was introduced to Eileen Grimshaw in tonight's programme, who mistook him for an ex-prisoner selling door-to-door.

George Shuttleworth was also concerned when he was introduced to Frank as he recognised him from school. The character later revealed to Eileen that Frank has a dark side, who bullied him at school.

Viewers following the show on Twitter were concerned by the revelation and predicted that Frank still harbours a violent streak.

Pam said: "Poor George. Still suffering after all the years of bullying. Frank's nasty. He hasn't changed. Sean's in for a rude awakening"

Mike added: "So this Frank was a nasty piece of work question is, is he still horrible and could Sean be next in line?"

Ryan commented: "I wonder if Frank is violent?"

Mick posted: "So Frank is going to wind up giving Sean some fearful beatings then, I’m guessing?"

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV and ITV Hub
