Coronation Street's Elaine Jones, played by Paula Wilcox, could be set to face a tragic exit from the ITV soap next week in spoilers which tease there is a tragedy to hit the cobbles which shows a shocking accusation being aimed at Elaine.
Just as serial killer Stephen Reid looks like he could be exposed as his actions are finally uncovered, it leads to a bitter spat between him and Elaine's son Tim as at least one character looks set to be rushed to hospital, reports the Mirror.
As the struggle between the two continues at the flat, speculation arises if Stephen will be killed or if Tim will suffer at his hands although Stephen is likely to be harmed due to what happens with his mother Audrey Roberts in the fallout.
There are accusations that not only tease a gruesome death twist but could also mean a goodbye to the show for actress Paula as Elaine could find herself framed for Stephen's sickening crimes.
Elaine only finds out what Stephen is up to upon a chilling discovery when she stumbles across a suicide note Stephen had written which made it look like she has taken her own life and also forged a life insurance application in her name.
Tim has been concerned for the well-being of his mum ever since the pair got together with questions surrounding Stephen's intentions after Elaine gave her husband a hefty amount of money for his business.
But Stephen's mum Audrey is horrified at the accusations towards her son when she is likely approached by Tim who reveals Stephen's sickening plans to kill Elaine when she turns the tables and accuses her of trying to be the one to kill Stephen.
None of them know however that Stephen is a serial killer, who has already claimed the lives of Leo Thompkins, Teddy Thompkins and Rufus Donahue with Elaine planned as his fourth victim and her son Tim also in the firing line.
If Stephen survives this week will he go ahead and frame Elaine for his crimes to get her out of the picture? It won't solve his finance issues but it may well keep him from being slammed behind bars in prison.
