Coronation Street fans have been left predicting a possible exit for Carla Barlow on the ITV soap at the hands of evil Stephen Reid as spoilers confirmed shock scenes next week.
The Underworld factory boss has been repeatedly left in danger as the murderous character started to drug her with LSD through cups of tea – leading to a frightening series of events.
Since Carla crashed the Underworld van into Paul, Stephen briefly tried to mount a coup to take over control of the factory through a no confidence vote.
However, a crucial tip off from Faye helped her to fight back against the attempted mutiny and Carla went on to sack Stephen in furious scenes on the cobbles.
Yet, as ITV spoilers have now revealed that Stephen’s vendetta reaches a dangerous new low when he takes revenge.
Amid rampant concern for Carla’s condition, Stephen continues to drug the long-time fan favourite, leaving many fearful she could be being lined up for an exit.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “Carla has just gone to the top of Stephen's murder list.”
A second chimed: “So Carla is now Stephen's no 1 murder target,” as another wrote: “Carla embarrassing Stephen in front of his old mate, that's her name on the Murder List!”
ITV spoilers have now revealed that Carla next week is led to believe she could be having a psychological episode as Stephen continues to target her – resulting in her speaking with her doctor.
Dr Gaddas prescribes her with diazepam, and when she returns to the factory Stephen makes a dig about making sure she is on top form, only for Carla to retaliate by having him make the tea.
Yet in revenge Stephen gives her a double dose and the LSD starts to kick in as the meeting draws to a close, turning Carla’s behaviour erratic.
Things take a deadly turn in later scenes, when Stephen has taken Carla's keys and lets himself into her flat as she sleeps.
He soon does the unthinkable and drops her keys back into her bag before heading into the kitchen and turning on the grill.
Carla stays asleep unaware of the danger she could be in, if the grill causes a fire or if it's a gas grill.
But will someone find Carla in time, or has Stephen just claimed his third murder victim after killing Leo and Teddy Thompkins in the past year?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
