Elle Mulvaney has established herself as one of the major stars of Coronation Street.
The soap star has played Amy Barlow on the Cobbles since she joined the cast in 2010. The character became embroiled in one of the show's most difficult storylines as she was raped by Aaron Sandford.
The plot is set to tackle the subject of non-consensual sex as Aaron will try to convince her he did nothing wrong and the police will soon become involved. Elle has previously told the ECHO how it is vital that the ITV soap tackles such current topics.

She said: “Initially when I was given the storyline I was quite anxious to take it on as it’s such an important issue and we wanted to get it right. There are so many different viewpoints from the characters but for us it was important that when we portray that night it’s clear that while Amy doesn’t say the words she definitely doesn't consent."
Show bosses worked alongside The Schools Consent Project to write the storyline and Elle is honoured to be trusted with such sensitive subject matter. She said: "It shows how much faith the team has in us, which in turn gives us the confidence to tackle the story. It won’t end here either, it will be interesting to see the character develop in a different way because this will stay with Amy for a long time."
Away from the screen, the 20-year-old regularly keeps fans updated with her happy life. She enjoys a close friendship with her co-star Harriet Bibby, who is known for her role as Summer Spellman.
Harriet told the ECHO how the two enjoyed a trip to Liverpool last Christmas and was in hysterics as she revealed why it didn't quite go to plan. She said: "We went to do some Christmas shopping in Liverpool ONE, but we didn't really buy for anyone other than ourselves so it didn't go really well."
Elle revealed this year she is in a relationship with Liam Scholes, who she met on the set of Coronation Street. Liam joined the cast of Corrie as Eli Higginson and was a part of the Seb Franklin murder storyline.
Liam is currently playing Noel McManus in the new season of Waterloo Road and is also a talented musician. Elle and Liam regularly share updates from their lives together and posted a snap as they headed out for a romantic Valentine's Day meal.
Elle is not just a talented actor as she was congratulated by her co-stars when she revealed her amazing A-Level revel results in 2021. Elle didn't let her acting career distract from her studies as she received an A* in Drama and two As in French and Business.
Elle's Corrie co-stars were quick to praise the star for all her hard work. Tony Maudsley, who plays undertaker George Shuttleworth, said: "Clever CLEVER girl!!!! Congratulations Elle!!!!".
Maximus Evans, who played baddie Corey Brent said: "Brilliant! Congratulations Elle."
