Coronation Street electrocution horror as fan favourite rushed to hospital after blunder

One Coronation Street resident is set to get the shock of his life - quite literally.

In upcoming episodes, Virgin Media viewers will watch as builder Ed Bailey get to work at Debbie's hotel, before a horrific incident leaves him in hospital.

The week is due to begin fairly normally for Ed, played by Trevor Michael Georges, as his wife Aggie tells him that he must fix neighbour Steve's roof for mates rates, Mirror UK reports.

Ed's brother Ronnie goes on to show him and Paul a photo of a derelict pub and suggests that they buy it together, knock it down and redevelop it for housing. But how will Aggie react?

Then on Friday, as Ed begins to work on a radiator at Debbie's hotel he's suddenly electrocuted, propelled backwards and rendered unconscious.

His brother panics and tells Paul to call for an ambulance while Debbie realises with horror that she's not sure when an inspection was last carried out as former owner Ray was known for cutting corners.

Aggie is terrified and furious in equal measure and slams Debbie for endangering Ed's life, telling her that she will be hearing from their solicitor. Will he be okay?

Elsewhere, Maria is terrified when a creepy guy approaches her an tells her how much he enjoyed her online video.

After running off, she tells Gary that she thinks she's being tracked and, while scrambling in her bag, comes across a tracking device.

She destroys the device and calls the police to report what has happened.

Later on in the week, Maria takes the day off work as Liam isn't feeling well.

Craig tells her that Jimmy is guilty of posting the malicious messages but when she heads outside, Jimmy approaches her menacingly and tells her that she'll live to regret blabbing to the police.

*Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on Virgin Media One
