Coronation Street death fears as Roy Cropper rushed to hospital as health deteriorates

Coronation Street spoilers have revealed Roy Cropper will be rushed to hospital next week - amid fears he might die.

The Cobbles legend - who owns much loved sandwich shop Roy's Rolls - has been struggling with his health recently, leaving fans concerned about his health and whether he might be suffering with something to do with his heart.

Worried viewers are concerned Roy's time could be up on the Cobbles and in dramatic scenes next week, a concerned Evelyn will call an ambulance for Roy when he struggles with pain in his chest whilst out on a dog walk.

In shock scenes next week, Roy decides to finally take Freddie for a walk after initial hesitations about doing son. Accompanied by Evelyn, who was tipped off by Nina about Roy's reservations, things soon take a turn when he gets terrible chest pain.

Evelyn urges him to chase up an appointment with the heart specialist, which he assures her he will.

On another dog walk together, Roy suffers a second medical emergency when Freddie manages to chase after a cat and Roy is unable to keep up. As he struggles with more pain in his chest, a horrified Evelyn calls an ambulance.

Fans have been concerned about actor David Neilson's exit from the soap for months after he briefly departed Weatherfield a few months back, much to his niece Nina's heartbreak as she begged him not to go.

In the emotional scenes, Roy bid goodbye - as David hinted it could be the end for his character, saying at the time: " I'm 72, obviously. When Corrie aired Norris' funeral, we had a scene with the hearse pulling up – and because of Malcolm Hebden, I thought: 'I'm really sorry that I won't get to work with him again.' But there are two exits in this for me: one for the character and one for David.

"Hopefully they won't coincide – maybe they will. I know Roy leaving will get a reaction. It's a big part of your life and a big part of that popular culture. He will be remembered for a long while."
