Coronation Street is set to bid farewell to another legendary character next week as Fiz Dobbs will pack her bags.
Fiz - portrayed by Jennie McAlpine on the iconic soap - will be leaving her family behind as she's offered a new job based in Norwich.
The Underworld machinist will pack her case for Norwich after Stephen Reid offered her a supervisor role, reports Manchester Evening News.
The red-haired mum is happy with the move as Izzy Armstrong and Kirk Sutherland offer Fiz their support in the factory while Evelyn Plummer and the girls wave her off as she leaves with Tyrone for the station.
But luckily for fans of the beloved soap, it's unlikely that Jennie will be leaving the show permanently. She first joined the long-running programme in 2001.
The 39-year-old revealed that she was expecting her third child, and revealed that she was due around Easter to the Loose Women panelists recently.
With this news in mind, it seems Corrie producers have had to write her character out for this period of time.
Jennie - who shares two children, Albert, eight and Hilda, four, with her husband Chris Farr - confirmed the news that she was six months pregnant back in January.
In an exclusive chat with Ok! Magazine, Jennie said that she found out she was pregnant again after feeling nauseous on a camping trip with her family.
The star confirmed that she and her family were 'thrilled' to be welcoming baby number three.
Adding that her children are excited to meet their new brother or sister.
"They had been talking about wanting [a new sibling] before," Jennie said, adding: "They’re really excited. From day one [they’ve been] touching my tummy and talking to the baby. They talk to the baby every day."
With Albert and Hilda, the couple decided to wait until their births to find out the genders.
Jennie revealed that she planned to keep the baby's gender unknown until its birth - similar to what they had done with Hilda and Albert.
She also confessed that they will probably also have a Corrie-inspired name.
Jennie named her daughter Hilda after the show's iconic character Hilda Ogden.
She explained: “With Albert and Hilda, we had the name, but when they were born, we were like, ‘That’s the one.’ It just kind of happened, so I think it’ll probably be the same. Hilda was a family name for us and we loved it. But Hilda Ogden is an absolute Coronation Street icon and I am a big Coronation Street fan, so I love that it is a nod to that."
