A Cornwall holiday home business has expanded with the opening of a new office.
Truro-based Cornish Gems said its new base on the Roseland Peninsula would act as a satellite office for its growing portfolio of more than 200 luxury properties in the Duchy. It will also house the firm’s in-house interior design department.
BusinessLive understands the company, which currently employs more than 100 people, is looking to grow the team handling its properties by 50% this year, while its Gems Interiors arm also had “ambitious” growth plans, having seen a 100% uplift in new interior commissions year-on-year.

Cornish Gems co-founder Nadia Macer-Wright said: “We’re thrilled to be building our team and creating new jobs in Cornwall, while also offering our owners an enhanced interior design service too.
“This is an exciting moment and one of many milestone developments in store - as we continue our journey towards B Corp and leading the charge for ethical tourism in Cornwall, to support our local community and circular economy.”
The expansion comes as Cornish Gems co-founder Julianne Shelton steps away from the business after 16 years, having founded the company alongside Ms Macer-Wright in 2007.
Ms Shelton said: : “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working alongside Nadia and the wonderful team, and feel enormously proud of the company we’ve built. I’m leaving on a high, wishing my Gems family every success, as Nadia continues to carve out Cornish Gems’ legacy as the holiday home company to do business with.”
