TMZ reported that Diego Sarabia, one of the accused, has lost his job at Wells Fargo. This comes after prosecutors reopened their investigation of the alleged incident, which occurred in 2024.
Sources told the news outlet that Sarabia is no longer employed at the Charlotte, NC, bank branch where he was reportedly working since 2022. TMZ learned that the decision was directly linked to the announcement made by Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten on Monday (September 28, 2026) that his office will present evidence to a grand jury as he faces questions from the public about why there were no criminal prosecutions in the case.
