Cornell University is facing pressure over its handling of allegations that a former student was sexually assaulted by members of the Chi Phi fraternity, with students demanding institutional reforms and calling for President Michael Kotlikoff to resign.

Students, faculty members and community supporters gathered outside Willard Straight Hall on Monday, 5 October, before marching to Day Hall. Reuters estimated attendance at about 1,000, while the Instagram account 'Cornellians Only' described the crowd as numbering in the thousands.
