Corey Webster last suited up in Week 8 of the 2013 regular season before finishing the year on injured reserve (IR). Now, more than a decade later, he will sign a one-day contract and retire as a member of the New York Giants.
Webster and Giants will make that official this coming Friday when the 41-year-old finally bids adieu to the NFL and the only club he ever played for.

A second-round pick in the 2005 NFL draft, Webster spent all nine seasons of his career with the Giants, picking up Super Bowl XLII and Super Bowl XLVI rings along the way.
In 121 regular season games (93 starts), Webster recorded 375 tackles (333 solo, eight for a loss), three fumble recoveries, three QB hits, 2.0 sacks, 97 passes defensed, 20 interceptions, and one defensive touchdown. He also returned two punts for 11 yards.
Webster’s best season came in 2008 on the heels of a dominant playoff performance in 2007. That’s when the corner truly established himself and began playing up to his potential. Although his elite window was short, the Giants don’t win either of the two Super Bowls over the New England Patriots without him.
Why it took Webster so long to retire with the Giants is something he will likely discuss on Friday but as the saying goes, Once a Giant, Always a Giant.
