The disappearance of a Scots girl who vanished after leaving school at lunchtime was described as ‘out of character’ by police. An urgent search was underway in Wishaw to find Elle Sheridan, who had failed to make contact with her worried family.
The 14-year-old, who was wearing her school uniform, was last seen on the town’s Greenfield Street, near Coltness High School, but was reported missing after not returning home.
Police were checking CCTV footage in the area to trace the teenager’s movements but appealed for help from members of the public. However, on Thursday morning officers confirmed Elle had thankfully been found safe and well.
