Police have issued an appeal for information on a Scots man who vanished yesterday morning.
Officers are trying to trace Edwin Gibson who is missing from Aberdeen. The 64-year-old, who is also known as Ted, was last seen about 9.35am on Wednesday at the bus station on Guild Street.
However, cops are keen to establish whether he got on a bus and are working with partners and local public transport hubs to confirm. A CCTV image has been shared as part of the police appeal.
Ted is described as white, 5ft 2ins, of medium build and balding. In the CCTV image, he is wearing a light-coloured baseball cap, a blue denim jacket, denim jeans and was carrying a large black holdall.
He also has connections to Strichen in Aberdeenshire.
Sergeant John McOuat said: “We’re appealing for people to keep a lookout for Ted. From our enquiries so far, he was seen at the bus stop which is a new sighting of him.
"We don’t know if he got on a bus but he has connections to the Strichen area of Aberdeenshire so may have travelled there but that has not been confirmed as yet.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Ted, or who had any information as to his whereabouts.
“We’d also ask Ted to get in touch with police or his family. Everyone just wants to know where he is and that he is safe and well.”
Information can be passed to officers via 101 quoting reference number 3582 of Wednesday, 24 August, 2022.
