Police are keen to speak to a taxi driver following a hit and run road crash in Glasgow that left a woman fighting for her life in hospital.
Officers from Police Scotland were called to Bell Street in Glasgow city centre at around 11.35pm on Saturday, 10 June, near to the junction with Little Dovehill.
Emergency services raced to the scene and a 32-year-old woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Now, police want to speak to the driver of a black people carrier style taxi in connection with the incident.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident Police Scotland revealed that the woman had been struck by a car that had failed to stop.
Officers say a 51-year-old man has since been arrested and released pending further enquiries. Following the incident at least six police vehicles and two ambulances attended and cops quickly locked down the road.
Police Constable Gary Stewart said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are keen to speak to a taxi driver we believe may be able to help with our investigation. He was driving a black people carrier style vehicle.
“I would also urge anyone else who has not already spoken to officers and who has information that could assist to get in touch.”
