Cops in Lanarkshire step up efforts to find man last seen on busy A-road

Police in Lanarkshire are asking for help tracing a man last seen walking on a busy road.

Gavin Laidlaw hasn’t been seen since shortly before 11am on Tuesday (March 7).

The 46-year-old was later seen on foot on the A726 at the village of Chapelton between East Kilbride and Strathaven shortly before 3.30pm.

Gavin is described as white, around 5ft 5in tall, of slim build with dark hair and a star tattoo on his face.

He was last known to be wearing a black top, grey jumper, black trousers and black trainers.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.

Information can also be given anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
