Cops descend outside Paisley off-licence after alleged rammy in street

Cops raced to a disturbance outside an off-licence in Paisley this afternoon before an officer was left injured in an ambulance.

The Paisley Daily Express understands that a man was involved in a traffic incident after leaving number 130, Hogshead Off Sales on the A761, in Ferguslie, Paisley at around 3.30pm.

It's understood a 38-year-old man was on an electric scooter when he collided with another vehicle, then an argument broke out.

A passerby told the PDE that a police officer who was attempting to calm the man had been injured and was being treated by ambulance crews.

There were three police cars, a police van, and an ambulance on the scene to deal with the situation.

The road remains open while the emergency services remain at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to assist staff from the Scottish Ambulance Service with a man causing a disturbance while being treated in the Ferguslie area of Paisley shortly after 3.15pm on Wednesday, August 24.

“The 38-year-old man has since been arrested.”
