Cops have rushed to a Greggs store in Inverclyde where locals have reported seeing "blood inside the shop".
Emergency services are currently in attendance at Princes Street, Port Glasgow, with the area sealed off following an incident early this morning.
A 38-year-old man has been taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital in Greenock for treatment.
Officers say they were called at around 6am to reports of a man being found injured on the street as enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
It is believed the man was not seriously injured. However an eyewitness told the Greenock Telegraph: "There's a lot of blood inside the shop."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 6.05am on Friday, 7 May, to a report of a man found injured on Princes Street, Port Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and a 38-year-old man was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital in Greenock for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
