NEW DELHI: In a major announcement, the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) revealed that the Copa America 2024 will be held in 14 US cities, culminating with the highly anticipated final at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
The tournament, scheduled to take place from June 20 to July 14, will feature quarter-final clashes in prominent locations such as Arlington, Houston, Las Vegas, and Glendale. The semi-finals are scheduled for MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The opening match is slated for Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, and other host cities include Las Vegas, Orlando, Santa Clara, Inglewood, Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas.
This football extravaganza, with 32 matches and 16 participating teams, is a joint effort between CONMEBOL and CONCACAF, covering North and Central America and the Caribbean.
The draw for the much-anticipated tournament is scheduled for Thursday. The previous edition of the Copa America saw Argentina emerge victorious, defeating hosts Brazil in the final and securing their first major title in 28 years.
