COP28 president urges delegates, oil interests to cooperate as climate summit opens

The incoming COP28 president, Sultan al-Jaber, opened this year's UN climate summit by urging countries to find common ground in policies to meet global climate goals. 

The UN climate conference opens in Dubai with nations under pressure to increase the urgency of action on global warming and wean themselves off fossil fuels, amid intense scrutiny of oil-rich hosts UAE.
