'Coorie' tartan collection launches to celebrate Scotland's heritage

LOCHCARRON of Scotland has collaborated with Historic Environment Scotland (HES) to create a fashionable tartan collection.

The range, which has been named “Coorie”, offers luxury clothing and homeware items that have been inspired by Scottish nature, using colours that work well in all seasons.

The partnership celebrates a “shared passion for preserving Scotland’s heritage”, and has been crafted and designed at one of the oldest weaving mills in the country using traditional weaving techniques.

The Coorie collection has been made with natural fibres to create the best and most durable products and uses premium textiles made by some of the country’s most talented and experienced craftspeople.

HES head of retail Natasha Troitino said: “We’re excited to have joined forces with Lochcarron of Scotland, whose team are renowned for their attention to detail and craftsmanship, to help us bring our vision to life in creating the ultimate timeless tartan collection.

“The Coorie range is designed to provide the optimal cosy haven – indoors or when out and about.

“With all items beautifully crafted across different areas of the country, we’re able to support both local businesses and manufacturers and spotlight true Scottish talent. With Christmas just around the corner, the collection offers a wonderful selection of items, from stylish home additions to seasonal must-have accessories, perfect for gifting to your loved ones.”

Coorie is also linked to a wider retail offering, including ceramics by Clod & Pebble, chocolates by Quirky Gift Library, and candles by The Coorie Company.

The range aims to offer feelings of cosiness, comfort, warmth, and happiness as the winter months draw in.

The Coorie collection includes a tartan lambswool scarf for £28, a £125 lambswool tartan throw, and a £65 tartan fine wool scarf, all made in Scotland.
