Sean McVay shared some expected news regarding Cooper Kupp this week as the wide receiver continues to recover from an ankle injury suffered in Week 2. McVay told reporters that Kupp will miss his third straight game this week when the Rams host the Green Bay Packers at SoFi Stadium.
Kupp was always expected to be out until at least the Rams’ Week 6 bye, which is the case now. He’ll sit out Sunday’s game and then get an extra week to recover in Week 6 before potentially returning in Week 7 against the Raiders.
Since he wasn’t placed on injured reserve, he’s still on the active roster and doesn’t have to miss a minimum number of games.
In Kupp’s absence, Tutu Atwell, Demarcus Robinson and Jordan Whittington have emerged as the primary targets at wide receiver.
