Convicted drink driver fails second drugs test in THREE WEEKS

A driver who shouldn't even be on the road has failed two drug driving tests in the past three weeks. Greater Manchester Police says it most recently tested the driver after they were found behind the wheel of a blue Renault Megane in Bolton.

The car was brought to the attention of officers after it was seen being driven with cloned registration plates on the A6 Manchester Road, in Over Hulton. After bringing the car to a halt, cops noticed a familiar face behind the wheel.

GMP says the driver had already been disqualified for drink driving, but that was not their only offence behind the wheel. The driver tested positive for drugs - and GMP says it was the second time they had done so in just three weeks.

Following the latest incident, the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, driving whilst disqualified and in connection with the cloned plates seen on the Megane. The car was also seized by officers.

In a post shared on Twitter this morning (December 1), a spokesperson for GMP Traffic said: "Cloned Renault Megane sighted by RPTF patrols on A6 Manchester Road, Over Hulton. Already disqualified for drink driving, the driver would also fail a drugs test!

"The second time in three weeks! Arrested for all offences and the car's being seized too!"
