A teaser trailer for Conversations with Friends, the TV adaptation of the Sally Rooney novel, has been released.
It's the second of Rooney's novels to be turned into a show.
The first was, of course, Normal People, which shot Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones to superstardom in 2020.
And director Lenny Abrahamson is once again on hand to help show the relationships among four people – Frances, Bobbi (her best friend), and married duo Melissa and Nick.
Filming took place across Ireland last year, and now we've seen the first results from that, with BBC Three releasing a teaser trailer on social media and on their YouTube channel on Wednesday.
It also confirmed the show will hit our screens in May of 2022.
Speaking to Vanity Fair, Abrahamson admitted there are some similarities between Conversations with Friends and Normal People, saying: "What we’ve ended up with is something that has a kind of aesthetic family resemblance to the other series but is definitely its own thing.
“I don’t think anybody could have predicted, in our world of streamers, that it would’ve gone quite as brilliantly as it did in terms of people’s response, and it was really gratifying."
Speaking last year, Abrahamson detailed how the crew was managing to shoot while under Covid lockdown.
He said: "It's going pretty well. It's an odd time to be gathering groups of people together and trying to work on the material but I think we have that sorted. It's all great, we have an amazing cast that's led by this wonderful young Irish actress called Alison Oliver who's just fresh out of the Lir. Then, there are three other brilliant actors - Sasha Lane, Joe Alwyn and Jemima Kirke - that's the central quartet and we're all very excited to get stuck in and be working again."
