Kingpyn Boxing have announced British Tik Tok star Ed Matthews will face controversial rapper Blueface in a 'wildcard fight' on their upcoming tournament opener in London.
The event, set for April 22, will see Blueface make his return to the ring for the first time since 2021, when he defeated Kane Trujillo in his debut on a Bare Knuckle FC card in which celebrities competed in gloved white collar bouts on the undercard. He has had two other ring returns cancelled due to controversies outside of the ring.
But with less than two weeks until the show, it's likely that the rapper will be able to compete against Matthews, who is no stranger to negative attention in his own right. Both men have boxed just once, with the Brit knocking out 52-year-old Simple Simon last summer on Kingpyn's debut.
"Finally got a call, man's got a fight," Blueface told fans in a Tik Tok video mocking Matthews. "Some dude from Australia or the UK. I don't know who the f*** is that guy, they called with the cheque, you know what we going to do, on God." Matthews responded with a crass message about the rapper's girlfriend Chrisean Rock "holding man's wood" after he stops him.
The pair will not be entered into the promotion's High Stakes tournament, which pits eight YouTubers against one another in a winner-stays-on three-fight competition. But they will be one of the most high-profile bouts of the show, with Blueface rarely far from the headlines.
It was recently announced his girlfriend is pregnant with their child - much to the surprise of fans. The pair's on-and-off romance has seen them break up publicly on multiple occasions, but it appears they are attempting to power through yet another hiccup in their relationship.

He was due to face basketball icon Nick 'Swaggy P' Young in Los Angeles before coming to London to face Faze Temperrr, but both bouts were pulled after the worrying footage emerged.
He has, however, stayed in the gym with recent footage showing him working out until he puked in his California training base. Meanwhile, it had seemed Matthews wasn't interested in fighting again until the late-notice offer came up for him to take on the famed rapper.
The Kingpyn tournament has both a men and women's bracket, each containing eight fighters. Major names involved include AnEsonGib, Austin McBroom, Whindersson Nunes, Elle Brooke and King Kenny, with all sixteen agreeing to three fights on April 22, June 3 and August 5.
