Illegal immigrants will now be considered criminals and police will be given more power against protesters - in a wave of legislation which was approved this week ahead of the interim suspension of Parliament.
This year, contentious Bills including the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act and the Nationality and Borders Act have been heavily debated.
On Tuesday, May 10, both houses of Parliament will reconvene as the government ran out of time to pass a number of other bills.
