The Married At First Sight (MAFS) Reunion has yet to land on our screens, but the drama has already rolled around with Brook Crompton revealing why she skipped the big finale.
Every year, MAFS holds a reunion so that the experts (and the rest of Australia) can see how the participants are going post-social experiment.
The Reunion is also an opportunity for our brides and grooms to hash out some beef that happened during (or even after) the experiment, brag about their love lives or share some big announcements — think 2025’s Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice‘s recoupling.

But unfortunately, it’s not uncommon that some of the experiment’s ‘villains’ skip the big finale, robbing us of a beautiful Daddy John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Alessandra Rampolla scolding.
This time around, Brook Crompton, notorious for setting off the show’s most explosive Dinner Party in MAFS history, which saw Stella Mickunaite and Alissa Fay in the firing line, has opted out of returning to the Ouch Couch.
While many have come to the conclusion as to why she decided to ditch it all — duh, she’s avoiding a good ol’ roast — the supermodel bride has since explained why she didn’t come back.

Why is Brook Crompton not at the Married At First Sight 2026 reunion?
In a cheeky statement to PEDESTRIAN.TV, the controversial bride claimed she was already booked and busy ahead of the highly-anticipated reunion.
“It was a close friend’s 30th and I didn’t want to miss it,” she told P.TV. “I had about four producers call and beg, trying to get me there, even saying they hadn’t invited Chris Nield. But honestly, I just couldn’t be bothered with the drama as well.”
While she skipped the MAFS shebang, she did admit that she regrets not having the opportunity to apologise to Alissa and Stella in person for that sh*tstorm of a Dinner Party.
“If I had any regrets, it would be that I didn’t get the chance to apologise to Alissa and Stella in person once again,” Brook said. “I did at my final CC and over messages twice, and I have reached out again since the show aired, both privately and publicly. But for me, the experiment brought out a side of myself that I had never seen before.”
Brook went on to say she was “honestly shocked by my behaviour” and claimed that she had no recollection of some of the remarks she made.
“I had done a lot of work on myself to recover, and I didn’t want to put myself back into that kind of environment,” she continued. “It’s an environment that some people thrive in, but unfortunately, some people crumble and lose who they are. We all know that a lot doesn’t get shown, and so much happens behind the scenes.”

Brook Crompton releases an Instagram statement on why she missed the Married At First Sight 2026 reunion
A day after Final Vows for 2026 wrapped up — which also featured a trailer for Sunday night’s Reunion — Brook dropped an Instagram statement after fans noticed that she appeared to be missing from the event.
“I’ve seen and received a number of comments about my absence from the MAFS reunion that will be aired Sunday 12th April, which was filmed on the 19th and 20th of November last year,” she began.
“In the lead-up, I was contacted multiple times by producers via email and phone, encouraging me to attend … However, at that point in my life, I had just found out that Harry and I were expecting our first child. Given everything I had experienced, I made the decision that returning to that environment was not in my best interest. It had previously brought out a side of me I wasn’t proud of, and I knew I needed to prioritise my wellbeing.”
At the end of her statement, Brook reiterated that her focus will be “protecting myself, my partner and our baby” and that she stood by her choice not to attend the reunion.
Look, especially after that explosive Dinner Party and her quick exit from the experiment — which was via a cheeky wee during a Commitment Ceremony — a lot of us were hoping that she would take some accountability and get grilled at the Reunion. But considering the circumstances, I am not surprised by this decision.
Hopefully, one day we’ll get a tell-all podcast where we see her perspective on that fateful night and her experience on the show.
