Contract details of Allen Robinson’s 3-year deal with the Rams

The Los Angeles Rams made a big, unexpected splash in free agency by signing Allen Robinson to a three-year deal worth $46.5 million. He signed his contract on Monday after arriving in Los Angeles, making the pact official at the Rams’ facility.

Details of Robinson’s contract have since surfaced, showing how exactly the Rams structured it to make the former Bears receiver fit under the cap. According to Over the Cap, Robinson’s contract includes $30.25 million fully guaranteed and he has an annual salary of $15.5 million – 17th among all wide receivers.

The Rams kept his cap hit low this year, with that number being just $4.3 million. In 2023, it jumps to $18.05 million in 2023 and $18.55 million in 2024, which is the final year of his contract.

He still has a cap charge of $5.6 million in 2025, but that’s dead money as it’s a void year, which was put in place by the Rams to spread money out over four years instead of three. There’s also another void year in 2026, but that doesn’t have a cap charge; if the Rams restructure Robinson’s deal at some point, they can use that second void year to spread cap charges out.

Here are the full details, via Over the Cap.

According to Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus, Robinson has $750,000 in incentives available in each of the next three years. There are other fine details in the contract, too, such as a player option in 2024 if he has 2,201 combined yards in 2022 or 2023.

Robinson’s $4.3 million cap number is the ninth-highest on the Rams this year, and he’ll be sixth on the team in 2023 at $18.05 million. It’s a manageable contract for the Rams, especially with Robert Woods’ deal now off the books.
