The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally got their first-round pick from 2023 signed. Defensive tackle Calijah Kancey signed a four-year contract with Tampa after being selected No. 19 overall out of the University of Pittsburgh.
Kancey’s four-year deal is a $14.722 million fully guaranteed contract. It includes a $7.706 million signing bonus as well as training camp and roster bonuses of $460,000 (2024), and $520,000 (2025).
In college, Kancey was one of the most disruptive interior defensive linemen in the country in 2022. Kancey followed up a 2021 campaign where he had 13.0 sacks with 14.5 the following season. Ahead of the draft, Kancey’s play style drew comparisons to another former Pitt Panther, Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams.
