‘Continued growth’ in number of electric cars being licensed

The number of new electric cars licensed in Ireland has more than doubled in the first five months of the year compared with the same period in 2021, new data shows.

Figures published on Wednesday by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show that so far this year, more than 20% of all new cars licensed for the first time were electric or plug-in hybrids.
