People who bought certain generic prescription drugs between May 2009 and December 2019 can now file for a share of a $400 million settlement with drugmaker Sandoz. On Oct. 1, a coalition of 48 attorneys general asked a federal court to approve the deal, which resolves allegations that Sandoz and its unit Fougera Pharmaceuticals joined a long-running scheme to inflate generic drug prices and limit competition.
The deadline to submit a claim is March 8, 2027, according to the New York Attorney General's office. The states say that in some instances, the coordinated price increases topped 1,000 percent on medicines used for conditions including infections, diabetes, cancer, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, HIV, and ADHD.
