Consumer commission asks revenue officer to pay compensation for refusing to issue Family Member and Integrated Certificates to woman

VIZIANAGARAM: The consumer disputes redressal commission has asked the Tahsildar (Mandal Revenue Officer), Bobbili Mandal in Vizianagaram district to pay a compensation of Rs5,000 and legal costs of Rs5,000 to a woman who was not provided with the integrated certificate and family certificate of her husband.

The commission also directed the Tahsildar to issue the certificate to the woman.

The petitioner Nadiminti (Marpina) Deepika Rani, a widow and resident of Agraharam street in Bobbili Mandal of Vizianagaram district. She mentioned that her husband Nadminiti Lakshmu Naidu of Pakki Village under Bobbili Mandal, Vizianagaram district was a RMS Sorting Assistant in the Postal Department in Vizag. Naidu was infected with Covid-19 and he lost his final breath while he was undergoing treatment at Maharaja Hospital in Vizianagaram on April 27, 2021.
