Construction to get underway on £1.3m Ayrshire housing development

Construction of six new amenity homes in Stevenston is set to get underway in the coming weeks.

The £1.3million redevelopment of six, 1 and 2 bedroom, bungalows will be built on the site of the former Afton Court Sheltered Housing Unit.

And work is expected to be wrapped up in time for spring/summer 2023.

Councillor Scott Davidson, cabinet member for place at North Ayrshire Council, said: “We are excited to see the development of these new homes which are built in a cutting-edge and environmentally-conscious manner.

“The new properties are a great example of the innovative thinking which is allowing us to build homes across North Ayrshire to meet the needs of our tenants and to help regenerate town centres and communities.

“We have one of the most ambitious house-building programmes in the country and the new homes at Afton Court will contribute to our commitment to build modern, energy-efficient and affordable homes in every part of North Ayrshire.”

Connect Modular has been appointed as the contractor for the Afton Court development and the council is holding a ‘Meet the Builder’ event ahead of work starting.

You can view the plans until Friday, 11 November 2022, here.
