Construction businesses across Lanarkshire are invited to a free event

Lanarkshire construction firms are invited to a free programme which equips them with skills and support.

Build Lanarkshire is offering a free of charge instructional programme which aims to guide local construction businesses on how to build the skills and capacity to win contracts from both the public sector and Scotland’s Tier One building contractors. The programme will run from May 4 to June 22.

The Build Lanarkshire programme is run in partnership with South and North Lanarkshire council and is conducted by hub South West which is a public-private partnership of local authorities, NHS, blue light services and leading construction industry Tier One building contractors.

Michael Ross, chief executive of hub South West, told Lanarkshire Live : “This is our fifth Build Lanarkshire initiative we are aiming to consolidate the success the programme has already achieved in delivering a broad understanding of the factors needed to win more new, bigger contracts from both Tier One contractors and the public sector.

“Every ambitious business in Lanarkshire which wants to grow and become more successful will get great rewards from enrolling in this free programme which has already benefited over many SMEs across the region.

The programme will comprise of eight half-day sessions led by experts in their fields who will cover a range of business issues including strategy, leadership and management, team building, digital marketing and social media.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet and speak to representatives from a range of Tier One contractors, those include: Morrison, Morgan Sindall and Kier, BAM Construct UK and Robertson Construction.
