Conor McGregor has vowed to "suplex" WWE legend Paul Heyman in a fresh attack on social media.
McGregor has become one of the biggest superstars in combat sports having reigned as double UFC world champion. His profile rocketed even higher when he stepped into the boxing ring in a huge showdown with legend Floyd Mayweather which generated unprecedented success and revenue despite his KO defeat.
In recent weeks, the Irishman has been talking up an appearance in wrestling promotion WWE following the success of their hallmark Wrestlemania event last month. He had ignited a feud with American promoter Paul Heyman online who defended Roman Reigns after his call-out.
And in a fresh social media outburst which he later deleted, McGregor tweeted: "I'm going to suplex Paul Heyman on sight [sic]." He then left a voicenote, which he again backtracked on later in the evening, vowing that he was coming for the high-profile star who has been an integral part of WWE in the modern era.
McGregor had first rattled Heyman's cage in previous activity on social media tweeting a picture of himself with the WWE titles, before claiming he could beat the entire roster. Many have made the switch from WWE to UFC including CM Punk and Brock Lesnar but it remains unclear if the Irishman could be the first to achieve when moving the other way.
The 34-year-old certainly has the profile to compete on the promotion, but it will likely be a move further down the line given he is tied down to a lucrative contract with the UFC. However Heyman ridiculed his attempts to earn a move to the WWE insisting that he is uncertain McGregor will be able to continue his career until later years.

"I'm not a grandfather, but I appreciate the fact that I'm old enough to be one, number one, and I'm still thriving on top," Heyman said during an interview on BT Sport. "I would like to see if Conor McGregor at 57 is still thriving at the very top of his entire industry. We'll see if he's even relevant at 57. We'll see if he even lives to 57 with his lifestyle now, number two.
'He, as a Roman Reigns wannabe, did the Paul Heyman style, you know, title on each shoulder, and, you know, gave a shout out to himself, of course he did. You know, the ultimate self promoter in Conor McGregor. Standing nine feet tall and weighing 155 pounds and five foot four. So, with that in mind, I said, 'Look at McGregor, a Roman Reigns wannabe', and of course, you know, he said, 'Oh, be careful grandpa. I'll break your jaw in three places."
