Conor McGregor gave an update on his comeback and various other topics.
The former UFC dual-champion has not competed since breaking his leg in a doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to Dustin Poirier in July 2021, but is nearing a return.
McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) is expected to come back against Michael Chandler, who he recently spent eight weeks with coaching Season 31 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”
In an interview with Mirror Fighting (h/t All Out Fighting), McGregor answered questions on Chandler, Dillon Danis’ upcoming boxing match with Logan Paul on Oct. 14, and Nate Diaz’s loss to Jake Paul in his professional boxing debut this past August.

Updates on comeback
“En route,” McGregor said. “I’m still hoping for December.”
Will he still fight Michael Chandler?
“Yes, it has to be,” McGregor said. “Chandler, sit down and wait – and shut your mouth.”
Gives prediction for Danis vs. Paul
“Dillon’s going to win. Dillon will win,” McGregor said. “You know, he had the baby. We didn’t get to train together, so I don’t know the ins and outs. I know he’s doing well. He’s been training, and he’s going to go for it.”
On Paul's fiancee filing a lawsuit against Danis
“It’s messy, all that,” McGregor said. “I don’t care about it. It’s an interesting build-up, and it’s exciting. Fair play to both of them.”
On Nate Diaz vs. Jake Paul + trilogy?
“It was not great,” McGregor said. “I’d like to see him back in MMA. I owe him a fight. I owe Nate a fight, so I’ve got to obligate that. He gave me my rematch and I got the better of him, and I owe him the trilogy for sure.”
