Conor McGregor has shared a photo on social media showing his injuries after he was hit by a car while out cycling on Friday.
The UFC star said he 'got away with his life' after the car struck him on Friday afternoon as he cycled near his home in Co Kildare. The Crumlin native took to social media in the aftermath of the accident on Friday, thanking God and saying that his wrestling and judo experience helped him save himself on his fall.
Writing on Instagram, he said: "Got a bang of a car just now from behind. A sun trap, the driver couldn’t see me. Thank you God, it wasn’t my time."

In one of the videos, the UFC champ could be heard saying: "All good mate, don't worry about it. That's nasty, I could have been dead there. Jesus Christ.. I got away with my life there, boys."
The driver of the car apologised to McGregor in the videos he shared on social media, and he offered the UFC star a lift home which he accepted. Hours later, McGregor shared a picture of his injuries which showed a large cut, as he captioned the image with a gorilla emoji.
However, some of the Crumlin native's followers felt he may have shown off more than he had planned in the picture and urged him to delete it. One person commented: "Delete the last post champ."
Another commented: "Delete the picture." But others insisted that there was nothing wrong with showing the injuries he received.
One person commented: "I’m so confused as to why people are telling him to delete it. I can see a pick of some sort of cut on a really well shaped body! The internet is full of it. Is he not showing that he’s got an injury?"
A second added: "Are people seriously offended by this picture...it is just showing the injury sustained after yesterday's accident." A third said: "Hope you're okay champ."
The UFC star was seemingly lucky to escape with just the cut, as a more serious injury could well have hampered his planned return to the octagon. 'The Notorious One' has not featured since brutally breaking his leg in a defeat to Dustin Poirier back in July 2021.
However, in recent months McGregor has has ramped up his training as he eyes a UFC comeback.
