Conor McGregor's staggering net worth revealed as UFC star closes in on billionaire status

Conor McGregor has revealed he is worth well over $500 million and claims he is on his way to becoming a billionaire.

In a sit-down interview with Megan Olivi of the UFC, the MMA icon revealed that he has made $650 million in his career to date and that he will reach the $1 billion number in the near future.

Since bursting onto the scene in the UFC a decade ago, McGregor has gone on to become one of the biggest and most profitable stars in sports history. His rapid rise led him to a 2017 boxing clash with Floyd Mayweather, a contest that earned McGregor in the region of $100 million.

The Dubliner holds four of the five highest Pay-per-view buy rates in UFC history, with his 2018 clash with Khabib Nurmagomedov by far the biggest UFC event of all time.

While appearing only sporadically inside the Octagon for the past seven years, McGregor is still one of the biggest draws in the sport and earned an eye-watering $40 million for his last two fights against Dustin Poirier.

In latter years, McGregor has dipped his toes into a string of business ventures that have been very successful. He launched his Proper 12 Whiskey brand shortly after that 2018 bout with Khabib, selling his majority stake in the company three years later for a whopping $120 million.

The 34-year-old took over the Black Forge Inn in Dublin and the pub is now a spot that attracts A-list celebrities on the regular. The success of the pub has also allowed McGregor to develop his own 'Forged Irish Stout.'

The Notorious has plenty of revenue streams that are guaranteed to keep the money coming in, and McGregor is convinced it is only a matter of time before he becomes a billionaire.

"It's motivating, obviously Michael Jordan is at the top spot with the Jordan brand took him there, he's worth multiple billions, 3.3 I think he's made.

"I'm closing in on a billion now, I think I'm at about 650 million all in I've made.

"I think they (Forbes) estimate that, I'd have to probably do my own little check of that.

"But I fancy my chances, I fancy my chances of getting up that list.

"It's good to see, as you say that Forbes was a goal of mine to hit that, I got that and on we go."

McGregor could well see his net worth skyrocket again this year, with the former two-weight UFC Champion scheduled to take on Michael Chandler before 2023 is out.
