Dustin Poirier's wife visited Conor McGregor's dressing room after the Dubliner's first defeat to her husband last year.
A video posted online showed Jolie Poirier arriving in McGregor's dressing room and being asked how she was by the Crumlin native.
She responded, "I'm good, how are you? I just wanted to say thank you so much."
McGregor, surrounded by his coaches and fiancee Dee Devlin, said: "Congratulations, he fought a great fight".
Jolie continued: "Thank you for everything. It's gonna help change a lot of people's lives," before wishing McGregor safe travels back to Ireland.
Jolie was thanking McGregor for a $500,000 donation he had promised to make to the American fighter's Good Fight Foundation.
But a few months later, Poirier claimed McGregor never made the donation, with the former two-weight champion saying it wasn't paid as he was never shown proof of where the money was going.
The build-up to last January's bout was very calm, especially by McGregor standards, with pretty much no trash talking and plenty of respect between the two fighters.
All that changed after that tweet from Poirier and the build-up was much more ugly to the trilogy fight.
McGregor shared a message request from Jolie on social media just days before the July 11 bout in Las Vegas.
Speaking about the request, the Dubliner said: "You'd have to ask her, I haven't a clue. You'd have to ask her, I don't play that game... another man's wife."
By this stage things had gone drastically downhill between McGregor and Jolie, but they were to get even worse.
Poirier won the trilogy bout after McGregor broke his leg in the dying second of the first round, with the father of three again mentioning Jolie in his post-fight interview.
Speaking to Joe Rogan as he lay on the floor of the octagon in agony, McGregor said: "Your wife is in my DM’s. Hey baby, hit me back up and I’ll chat to you later on. We’ll be having an afterparty at the Wynn nightclub baby."
Jolie gave McGregor the middle finger as she exited the cage with her husband.
It's probably safe to say she won't be visiting his dressing room post-fight or thanking McGregor for anything ever again.
